At HRC, we understand the importance of community support in the recovery process. Clients have the opportunity to attend both on-site and off-site recovery meetings, with additional support provided by our dedicated recovery team. Each client is paired with a counselor and a recovery coach to guide them through their journey. In addition to our core treatment approaches, we provide a range of supplementary services aimed at holistic healing. This includes parenting and anger management classes, financial and education groups, as well as yoga and living skills. At New Life House, our vision for the future is formed by the needs and dreams of the participants and families we serve.

Established in 1995, New Life House employs a staff dedicated to the provision of high quality medical, nursing and rehabilitative care. The center’s goal is to allow every resident to experience the best quality of care and life while maintaining or regaining function, health and well-being. For weddings and private events, New Life House Inn can accommodate parties up to a total 60 guests for ceremonies in the gardens and dinner reception in our Michelin Star restaurant.

Welcome to Harbor Recovery Center (HRC), where we provide comprehensive treatment for men over the age of 18 seeking recovery from substance abuse. At HRC, we are committed to utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure the highest quality of care for our clients. New Life House was founded in 1992 by a group of 11 families who each had a son or daughter with disabilities aging out of school-system education and daily care.

Our Menu

New Life House is a bright, spacious New England-style seafood restaurant Milwaukee residents and visitors love, set on the shore of Lake Michigan. Our restaurant offers a premier lakefront dining experience and the freshest seafood flown in daily from both coasts. The interior features a three-sided bar, a raw bar, an open kitchen, and a private dining room available for special events and parties. A seasonal outdoor patio features a full bar, Adirondack chairs and unparalleled views of the lake, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and Milwaukee’s skyline. We also offer Transitional Living (TL) housing services, on campus as well as in downtown Hot Springs, for those who complete residential care and wish to continue their treatment.

Guests of New Life House Inn are granted preferred reservations at New Life House restaurant through our concierge. The Inn recently underwent an 8 year renovation which was completed in May of 2018 that blends historic charm with classic elegance.

Services Overview

The founding parents of New Life House envisioned an organization that would provide their sons and daughters with challenging, enjoyable, and productive work. Intensive outpatient consists of at least 9 hours of individual and group counseling—3 hours a day for 3 days a week, for a minimum of 6 weeks, with week course of treatment more likely. A residential modality offers the client a structured, safe environment designed to treat the whole person, including any co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, and personality disorders. We are dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting recovery.

Please note that cell phone reception is highly limited on the Coast, and on our property. We encourage you to use this time to disconnect, though wi-fi is available as needed. Our program focuses on progress towards individualized goals, rather than adhering strictly to a predetermined length of stay. We integrate traditional 12-step recovery models with evidence-based practices. Additionally, some of our staff are trained in innovative modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT).

A Singular Experience

A stay in residential care typically lasts about days, with some variation depending on progress made. Additionally, we offer Specialized Women’s Services (SWS), a day program for expecting mothers and mothers of small children. This modality involves all the elements of the traditional residential program, but with a greater emphasis on parenting skills, connecting with community resources, and household management. Welcome to Harbor Recovery Center’s Transitional Living (TL) program, designed for individuals seeking continued support and treatment following residential care. TL offers a supportive environment where clients can extend their recovery journey for up to 18 months.

At BaneCare, we are driven to create an environment built on compassion, dignity, and respect — for our residents and their extended families, for our community, and for our staff members. The New Life House Inn features 11 options for nightly stays which includes 6 traditional rooms in the main house and 5 standalone cottages for those looking for added privacy. Guests can select between garden view or ocean view rooms or cottages that feature a private patio. Each nightly stay includes a lavish breakfast, access to our private cove, plush down feather bedding, and cozy accommodations.

TL offers a structured, supportive sober-living environment combined with outpatient treatment services to help ensure lasting success. New Life House is located in Hingham, Massachusetts, is a 142-bed skilled nursing center offering short-term rehabilitation, and long-term care. Our treatment team consists of dedicated, motivated individuals working together to provide evidence-based care targeted to the unique needs of persons served. Our model is centered in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, or ACT– a mindfulness- and acceptance-based behavioral therapy that capitalizes on the person’s core values to create life-saving change. Supplemental groups on parenting, career & educational goals, anger management, and financial literacy–among other topics–are also provided in the residential setting. New Life House is located in Hingham, off Route 3A near the harbor and downtown shopping.

Guests booking the inn 30 days in advance, or more, will receive early access to reservations in our restaurant before they go live to the general public. As with New Life House’s other programs, eligibility for entry into our Hot Springs location is determined through a prescreening interview, usually by phone. The center is also Medicaid/Medicare Certified and accepts overage from many private insurers. Sometimes a comprehensive assessment will indicate that outpatient treatment is the best place to start in the road to recovery. In our TL program, clients have the opportunity to transition back into independent living while maintaining a structured treatment regimen. Upon transitioning, clients commit to gaining employment and contributing to their rent expenses after the initial month. During this first month, clients focus on securing employment, supported by our staff.
